Athletic facilities at John Carroll University are some of the finest in the Ohio Athletic Conference. It starts with Don Shula Stadium at Wasmer Field, home to JCU football, soccer and track & field. In 2001, construction began on this outdoor facility to transform it to Don Shula Stadium, in honor of Don Shula '51, the NFL's all-time winningest head coach. The stadium has brand-new artificial turf, features homey locker room facilities, grandstands on both home and visitor sides, offices, a Memorabilia room, and a press box for both football and baseball.
Other athletic facilities include Schweickert Field, home of JCU Baseball; Bracken Field, home to JCU Softball; the Wiliam H. Johnson Natatorium, home of the Blue Streaks' swimming & diving squads; and the 2,500-seat Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center, home to JCU Basketball, Volleyball and Wrestling.Â
The gymnasium is part of the Student Center, which also houses the Ralph Vince Corbo Fitness Center.
